This piece describes a love story of romance. When two people see each other and are attracted for the first time. The relationship starts out with small simple steps easy questions and sweet intentions. It deepens as the melody gets stronger. Then inexplicably there is a rift in the relationship. This is where the music goes into a minor key. But with the resolving of this rift the bright and loving melody returns as the relationship is stronger. It's a musical description of Reuben and his lovely wife of 27 years in Oct.
